Antigen test

What does that mean?

If you are a carrier of the coronavirus, this virus is demonstrably located in the back of the throat and nasal cavity. Antigens are the proteins that are on the skin of the virus. With the antigen test, these proteins are tapped with the rod and we can demonstrate their presence with our antigen rapid test. The test result can be read on the cassette after 15 minutes.

The test is taken using a swab from the nasal cavity. This can be experienced as annoying but this is of very short duration. The test therefore has no further side effects. We will share the results with you as soon as possible. In most cases this is within 15 to 20 minutes.

In addition, we can provide the documentation for you in the form of our official certificate. Our certificates comply with all guidelines given by the RIVM and are accepted as travel certificates by a selected number of countries. Always check the regulations of the destination country for this.

PCR-test

What does that mean?

A PCR test or polymerase chain reaction detects the presence of the genetic material of the virus. Just like humans have DNA, Covid-19 has RNA which is specific to this virus. In the lab, the tests taken are examined for the presence of this RNA and the results provide a very high degree of certainty of the presence of the virus. The PCR test is therefore a lot more sensitive than an antigen test and it is possible to travel abroad with this test.

Antibody test

What does that mean?

While you are infected with a virus, your body makes antibodies against this virus. This ensures that you are better protected against this same virus in the future. The moment you have been infected with Covid-19, the chance that you will get the same virus again in the future is smaller.

The above is also called immunity and the presence of these substances can be measured in the blood. We investigate this with an antibody test. This test is administered with a finger prick. This requires about 3 drops of blood. We collect this blood and ensure that it goes to the lab for research. This allows you to find out whether or not you have been infected with Covid-19 in the past.

As an extension of this test, we also offer a quantitative antibody test. This test will let you know whether or not you have been infected with Covid-19 and in what amount you have built up antibodies against this virus. Results for both antibody tests take approximately 24 to 48 hours.
